CatsEyeXI Terms of Service

By creating a CatsEyeXI account, connecting to the CatsEyeXI game server, or using the CatsEyeXI website, you agree to these terms and to the CatsEyeXI Addon Policy at catseyexi.com/addon-policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

CatsEyeXI is operated by volunteers. We may update these terms at any time, and continued use of the service after an update means you accept the updated terms.

CatsEyeXI is a non-commercial, fan-operated private server. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Square Enix Co., Ltd. or any of its affiliates.

FINAL FANTASY XI and all associated names, characters, artwork, music, and other content are the property of their respective owners. CatsEyeXI claims no ownership of that intellectual property and makes no commercial use of it.

You are responsible for the security of your account, including your password and your registered email address. Do not share your account credentials.

You are responsible for everything that happens on your account, including actions taken by anyone you give access to. Account sharing is prohibited, and you remain responsible for all activity on your account.

Accounts and characters are not property, cannot be sold or transferred for real-world value, and grant no ownership rights in any virtual item, currency, character, or account.

The current and authoritative list of server rules is posted in the rules channel of the official CatsEyeXI Discord server. Those rules may be updated there at any time without a corresponding update to this page, and they apply in addition to the terms below.

The following are prohibited on CatsEyeXI:

• Harassment, threats, hate speech, or abusive behavior toward other players or staff
• Cheating, exploiting bugs, or using any addon, plugin, or tool prohibited by the CatsEyeXI Addon Policy at catseyexi.com/addon-policy
• Unattended automation or any other activity prohibited by the Addon Policy
• Real-money trading, including buying, selling, or trading accounts, characters, currency, or items for real-world value
• Sharing your account or allowing another person to access it
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any account, the game server, the website, or any other CatsEyeXI system
• Impersonating CatsEyeXI staff

CatsEyeXI is free to play. Donations are entirely voluntary and are used to help cover hosting and operating costs.

Donations are not purchases. They are non-refundable, and they do not grant in-game benefits, items, advantages, priority support, immunity from enforcement action, or any other entitlement. Donating does not change how these terms or the Addon Policy apply to your account.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate any account at the discretion of CatsEyeXI staff, with or without prior notice, including for violations of these terms, violations of the Addon Policy, cheating or exploitation, harassment or abuse of other players, attempts to compromise the server or website, or conduct that harms the community or the operation of the server.

Enforcement decisions are made by CatsEyeXI staff. We may review appeals but do not guarantee that any appeal will be reviewed or granted. Donations are not refunded in connection with enforcement action, and suspension or termination does not entitle you to compensation for lost characters, items, progression, or time.

Moderation and enforcement records may be retained after an account is suspended, terminated, or deleted, as described in the Privacy Policy.

CatsEyeXI is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs, exploits, or data loss.

We make no guarantee that account, character, or progression data will be preserved. Hardware failure, data corruption, loss of hosting, security incidents, server rollbacks, or the server ceasing operation may result in partial or total loss of data, and we cannot promise that any particular account, character, or item can be recovered or restored.

We may change, suspend, reset, roll back, or discontinue any part of the service, including the game server itself, at any time and without notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CatsEyeXI and its volunteer staff are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including loss of accounts, characters, items, progression, or data, loss of access to the service, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Because CatsEyeXI is provided free of charge, you agree that no monetary remedy is available to you in connection with the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of CatsEyeXI will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these terms from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the effective date on this page.
